The words contained in this here journal may not make much sense and they may not bear any relation to reality but one thing is for sure, they'll contain the word pasty.

I drew a random picture the other night in Paint Shop Pro. You can see it in my yahoo gallery, link below somewhere. I SWEAR it looks better in full size!

First time I’ve written in here for a little while. I just felt the need to do so, I’m feeling a little inspired by the works of a Mr Spielberg. I’ve just finished watching Empire of the Sun with my brother (good film based on a good book by J.G.Ballard, I recommend both) and as I write this I’m listening to the score for Saving Private Ryan. There’s a lot of toffee nosing goes on amongst the classical world at the works of John Williams but he never fails to produce some reaction from me.

It’s a long time since I sat down and watched a really good “drama” style film. Action and adventure is fun enough but I just fancied something a little more thoughtful to entertain me this evening, the company of my brother making the experience oh so much more fulfilling. I get the feeling that a lot of people haven’t actually watched an emotive film in their entire life, I know for a fact that Julian hasn’t and that Jono won’t. Perhaps he’s a little shy about showing emotion at a film, perhaps he really does find them boring, but that would surprise me. Jono’s a softie at heart as little as he’d like to admit it. It is my aim to force everyone to watch The Shawshank Redemption at some point in the near future. I’d like to see it again and I’d love to see what Julian and Jono make of it.

Today my brother and myself blew the cobwebs off the old bikes, dragged them out of their retirement, and proceeded to race each other round and round the garden. We had a few close scrapes with trees and the like, at one point the handlebars on my bike came clean off as I shot down the “Start/Finish Straight”, but we had great fun. A couple of men being little boys. I make no bones about it; I do childish things, and I love it!

Got parts for a new computer yesterday, put them together, and after 24 hours of my particular brand of feeling sorry for myself (sitting in front of the TV watching old F1 tapes and grinning) I identified a knackered video card and sent it back. My super new PC, with an Athlon XP3000+ processor and such like, now comes with graphics courtesy of an S3 Virage card of seven years past. My troubles haven't slowed the building of the system though due to the fact I can’t progress until Capps delivers a copy of XP. This will take time. Even more time, in fact, than returning a faulty component to a mail order company.

I’m still trying to contact Hannah though I fear that it’s a pointless activity. I fought for days to track down her mobile number and now I’ve got it I find she hasn’t the courtesy to turn it on! The cheek. Ahhh well, life goes on though it would have been good to see a fine friend, and fine to see a good friend. At least the process of tracking down phone numbers has got me in contact with loads of my other Scilly mates. Scilly: The place where you can be as childlike as you desire.

I've uploaded some pictures from Scilly into a yahoo gallery thing. Go have a look at http://uk.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/scillygav. The full size pictures are pretty big but you lot all have broadband so I figure you don't care much.

Hope you like em!
